About Us

Empowering Communities. Bridging Gaps. Saving Lives.

Saving Our People is a Black-led, women-led nonprofit health organization dedicated to fighting healthcare disparities that disproportionately affect communities of color. Founded and led by experienced nurse practitioners, our mission is clear: to educate, promote, and prevent—so our communities can live longer, healthier lives.

We operate where health meets the heart—directly in the neighborhoods we serve. Whether it’s a health fair, seminar, workshop, or panel, we focus on building trust and delivering culturally relevant care that speaks to the lived experiences of those often overlooked by the healthcare system.

Our Mission:

To eliminate healthcare disparities among minority populations through community-based education, health promotion, and preventive outreach—with a focus on chronic disease, mental health, and women’s health.

Why We Exist

We created Saving Our People because we got tired of seeing our communities suffer in silence. Too many are left behind due to lack of access, misinformation, or systemic neglect. We’re here to change that narrative—with education, empathy, and action.

“We don’t just raise awareness—we take action.”
